About the shoe itself, in a nutshell

A dual-purpose shoe: designed for track training and street running, and in the latter case also recommended for racing. The Boston 12 can therefore be an optimal choice for all middle and long-distance runners looking for a comfortable and durable shoe for their basic training - when they run more on asphalt, concrete, or even more on a circuit track.

The days of first wearing shoes

I was looking for training shoes, and since I have flat feet, finding a shoe that was specialized for this was a primary consideration. That's when I read more about the Boston 12, and I finally decided on it.

Boston 12 on the street

I used it for higher average pace runs on asphalt surfaces and ran various distances with surprisingly flexible ground contact. I found it to be most effective at distances around 5 km, but I have already run a 7 km street race with it, where I easily ran a sub-3:10 pace.

Boston with 12 on the field

What really surprised me was the use of the shoes on the track with the record. During the preparation period for the longer distances, I only ran in these shoes, and I felt much more flexible than on street terrain. As the racing season approached, I tested them to see if they remained my companion even on shorter and faster distances. I completed 400-meter distances at a value corresponding to my usual average pace, and I did not experience any difference in terms of power output.

I am currently using this, and it will most likely remain so in the future...

I'm now wearing my second pair of Boston 12s for the bulk of my training until I can put on my spikes. However, I can say that they are best suited for street terrain - so I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to push their limits in an amateur - or even professional - street running race!
